Swinging for Sue

In Memory of Sue Gemme-Crawford

This past November, Sue Gemme-Crawford passed away after an 18-month battle with Metastatic Serious Uterine Cancer. Throughout her journey, she showed unwavering strength and courage. Sue was a beloved wife, daughter, aunt, dog mom, and, above all, a loyal friend to so many. Before her diagnosis, you could always find her on the golf course, enjoying the game she loved.

Sue was fortunate to receive support from the Cancer House of Hope in West Springfield, an incredible organization that provides free services to cancer patients and their families. These services include wigs, Reiki therapy, wellness education programs, counseling, and much more — all at no cost to those in need.

In August 2023, our family hosted the inaugural Swinging for Sue Golf Tournament to honor Sue’s battle and raise funds for the Cancer House of Hope. The event was a tremendous success, with 36 foursomes and many others joining us for a meal and raffles afterward. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and a shared commitment to a cause close to our hearts.

This year, our family is continuing Sue's legacy by bringing back the tournament on Sunday, August 17th, at Shaker Farms Country Club. The Team Positivity - Swinging for Sue Golf Tournament will once again celebrate Sue’s life and raise money for the Cancer House of Hope.
